Plan for the right lifecycle stage

If we roughly define 3 stages of your product; prototype, pre-series and series, there a couple of things to consider. The first proto focuses on functionality but from then on, it is crucial to keep industrialization in mind. “We can fix it later” is the most expensive quote in product lifecycle management.

The goal is to be as close to the desired end result while in the prototyping phase, all the while keeping price, quality and the timing in mind. Scaling up should mostly only yield incremental changes, all the fundamentals should be correct. And as always your colleagues and external partners will love it if you consistently manage all revisions.
